Help eliminate the demeaning use of the R-word.
Pledge to show respect to everyone here.

The Spread the Word to End the Word campaign is an ongoing effort by Special Olympics to raise society’s consciousness about the dehumanizing and hurtful effects of the word “retard(ed)” and to encourage people to stop using this R-word.

Respectful and inclusive language is essential to the Special Olympics movement to ensure dignity and to respect the humanity of all people of all abilities. Help us change the conversation and eliminate the demeaning use of the R-word from today's vernacular and replace it with "respect."
