I have been involved with the Special Olympics for about 6 years now. Some of the sports I currently compete in are track, bowling, and swimming, and I am also involved in the Equestrian program as well in Colchester. I was also selected to compete in athletics in the National Games in Ames, Iowa, in the summer of 2006.The experience of going to Iowa was a one-in-a-lifetime experience-one that will never be forgotten, and will influence me in my everyday life. I really enjoy doing track because I love the nice weather in the spring and summer, thus I love running, and it is definitely one of my strengths. Throughout the years of being in the Special Olympics, I have had the opportunity to make a lot of new friends, and hopefully will continue to make new ones in the upcoming years.
