Special Olympics Connecticut Global Messenger

Daniel Kupisz

Daniel Kupisz Birth Date: September 30, 1978
Home Town: Niantic, CT
Sports: Athlete in Cycling for Mystic-Ledyard, Athlete in Bowling

My father and I live together in Niantic in a two-family house I work at the Coast Guard Academy in New London. On my birthday, in 2006, I became a Global Messenger.

I have been in Special Olympics for 8 years; I participate in cycling in the spring and in bowling (in the fall). Special Olympics Connecticut gives me a chance to get some physical activity and to have some fun with my friends. I enjoy the State Games where I get to meet new people and where I see people I have not seen for a long time. Taking part in Special Olympics events helps built my confidence in my limited ability. Special Olympics is not about winning, it is about bettering yourself and having fun while doing so; and to enjoy all the people, athletes and supporters who are there.

"My hobbies are computer, the New York Yankees and the New England Patriots, reading and working in the yard. On my computer I play games such as, Spades and Hearts. "
