Special Olympics Connecticut Global Messenger

Harold Rohloff

Harold Rohloff Birth Date: July 30, 1969
Home Town: Woodstock, CT
Sports: Floor Hockey and Soccer

I have worked at Stop and Shop in Putnam for 10 years. I work there on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and I also work at the Cinnamon Tree Bakery on Tuesdays and Thursdays. After work on Thursdays at the Cinnamon Tree, I go to the Woodstock Elementary School and assist Mr. James Lazur (physical education teacher) with the gym classes for grades Pre-K through 4. I like to travel and recently joined a group for a twelve-day cruise to the Panama Canal. I sometimes fly to Baltimore to visit my brother and his family. In the fall I flew there by myself for the first time.

Special Olympics Connecticut gives me a chance to get some physical activity and to have some fun with my friends. I played hockey this winter for the first time and learned the rules and moves of hockey. We have many fund-raisers for Special Olympics Connecticut and I enjoy being part of those activities. I enjoy the State Games where I see people I have not seen for a long time and also meet new people. Also, I enjoy the dances and pizza. I have been participating in Special Olympics since 1976.
