Jon has participated in Special Olympics since he was 8 years old, beginning with track & field and swimming. At home, Jon is an Eagle Scout and serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster in his local troop, Troop 13. When not working at Stop & Shop, he spends his time studying TAEKWONDO and holds the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt. In 2002, Jon traveled to Korea to train. He is currently working toward becoming a 3rd Degree Black Belt. Jon is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, both Third and Fourth Degrees, and enjoys being a part of the Fourth Degree Color Corps and participating in ceremonies and parades.

In his spare time, he enjoys being with his three brothers, their wives, and his five nieces and nephews. In July of 2006, Jon will be going to Alaska to visit his brother Michael who is in the Coast Guard. Despite all of his involvements, he still manages to find time to spend with his large video and video game collections.
