I moved in with Roger Tomkiel last year and really enjoy the change from New London. I can walk out our door and be downtown in minutes. I enjoy working out at WOW (Work Out World) several times a week. I also enjoy visiting friends and family. I like watching movies and old shows on the television to relax.
I've worked at Stop & Shop in the Produce Department for the past 23 years! I am the Athlete Representative on the Board of Directors for SOCT for the past few years and have been a Global Messenger since 1998. I enjoy participating in the Torch Run (Waterford through New London) and the Penguin Plunge (New London-Ocean Beach) each year. I am a Board Member for The SECT Advocates for the Developmentally Disabled (SECADD). I enjoy assisting DMR Rec Staff at our area dances. Each Fall, I work on the "Strides" race held at Camp Harkness to benefit ARC and DMR Clients.
I really enjoy speaking to schools and organizations about Special Olympics Connecticut. I hope there are many more opportunities in the future to do so. I look forward to participating in as many Special Olympics Events as possible!
