Kristen Pendziwater has been involved with Special Olympics Connecticut for 24 years. Besides cycling, Kristen is involved in softball skiing and bowling. In the past she has competed in volleyball, basketball, swimming, track and field and equestrian. Kristen competes in the Summer, Fall and Winter games and her favorite part of Special Olympics is the competition for the medals. This will be Kristen's 4th World Summer Games; in 1991 she competed in Minneapolis (women's basketball), in 1995 in New Haven (women's volleyball), and in 1999 in North Carolina (equestrian). Kristen has been inducted into the Special Olympics Hall of Fame and has received the "Spirit of Life" Award.
