Sports
Special Olympics Connecticut hosts four state competitions for athletes from across the state annually, as well as numerous qualifying and invitational events throughout the year.
We offer Traditional Sports programs (for athletes with intellectual disabilities) and Unified Sports® programs (for individuals with and without intellectual disabilities who train and compete together as teammates) through our 75 Special Olympics local programs in communities across that state.
Participants may select from 26 different sports and participate in a different sport each season. For each, they train a minimum of eight weeks with their local program leading up to competition.
