2020 VIRTUAL FALL SPORTS SEASON

All Athletes and Unified Partners are invited to participate in our 2020 Virtual Fall Sports Activities! Here's how:
1. Click on the sports of interest listed on this page in the tabs below and pull down to view the activities offered in each sport. You may complete as many different sports activities as you would like!
2. Athletes may practice and submit scores for as many activities they would like. Record the score(s) they are most proud of only one time.
3. Register and submit scores with Google Forms HERE.
No preregistration is required. One form per athlete/partner.
Please register and submit scores by September 28th!
There are three required fields: Email Address, Name and Local Program.
Photos and videos will be uploaded directly to the SOCT Smugmug site (via the Google form). To ensure each athlete is identified correctly please follow these instructions:
- First save the image to the device you will use to submit registration, titled with the athlete name and local program.
- Click on the link, find the image and click save!
- Disregard the ‘your answer’ line. Nothing is needed there.
- Please submit no more than two images, i.e. one photo and one video. Videos should be approximately 15 seconds long.
You do not need a google account to complete the form. If you do have a google account please do not switch accounts to submit a registration.

Activity #1 - Virtual Corn Hole Skills
Athlete stands 15 feet from a target (corn hole board, hula hoop or laundry basket). Athlete has 10 attempts to throw a bean bag into the target and receives 1 point for each successful attempt. Athletes practice as many times as they would like and submit their best score.
Activity #2 - Virtual Bocce: Pallina Target Contest
On any flat surface (lawn, bocce court) measure 15 feet from where the athlete stands and place a pallina (golf ball or any small ball.) Athlete rolls a bocce ball or similar sized ball towards the pallina. After 8 attempts, measure in inches the distance of the closest bocce ball to the pallina. Athletes practice as many times as they would like and submit their best score.
Activity #3 - Virtual Basketball 3-Point Contest
For a 3-point line, measure 20 feet from the basketball hoop. Athlete makes 10 attempts and earns 3 points for each basket made. Athletes practice as many times as they would like and submit their best score.
Activity #4 - Virtual Basketball Free Throw Contest
Athlete makes 15 attempts from the foul line or 15 feet from the hoop, and earns 1 point for every basket made. Athletes practice as many times as they would like and submit their best score.
Activity #5 - Virtual Softball- Base Running Contest
If a softball field is not available use a flat surface to place 3 cones in a diamond shape 65 feet apart. Athlete runs from home plate or starting area as fast as possible, touching the bases or cones. Record the time in seconds and minutes from home plate and back. Athletes practice as many times as they would like and submit their best time.
Activity #6 - Virtual Softball: Throwing
Mark a throwing line on a flat surface. Athlete throws the softball 3 times as far as possible. Measure from the line to the longest distance in feet. Athletes practice as many times as they would like and submit their best score.
Activity #7 - Virtual Softball: Fielding
Athlete stands 40 feet from the person tossing or rolling the softball. Athlete is given 5 attempts to field the ball (catch or block). The score for each successful attempt is 5 points. Athletes practice as many times as they would like and submit their best score
Activity #8 - Virtual Softball: Hitting
Athletes may hit off a batting tee or a ball can be pitched to them. After 3 attempts the ball that was hit the longest distance is measured from the batting area. Athletes practice as many times as they would like and submit their best score.
Activity #9 - Virtual Fishing
There are two fishing activities, individual (athletes only) or family team. Athletes may register for one activity. Fishing licenses are required. A named photo of the athlete or team with the fish is also required. For the family team both individuals must catch a fish. Include fish type and weight and the location where it was caught to complete the registration.
Activity #10 - Mini Golf
Athletes may visit a mini golf location and submit their score sheet for participation. Please note there is a fee associated with this activity that can be paid for by the individual. When registering, please include your name and location of mini golf course visited. Photo of scoresheet is required and a photo of the athlete at the golf course is encouraged!

Activity #11 - Virtual Run/Walk Challenge
This challenge is open to Special Olympics Athletes and Unified Partners, August 1st to October 31st.

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. It also offers Special Olympics Unified Sports® which teams up athletes with intellectual disabilities and their peers without disabilities, known as Unified partners, to play sports. Participants train for 8 to 12 weeks prior to a state competition. This training is offered through our Local Programs.
