Team Marrakech Athletes Focus on Fitness

Coaches Jane Adams and Gabe Wagstaff are currently offering the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes® Fit 5 program to members of our Special Olympics Marrakech team. Fit 5 is an eight-week program that empowers athletes to make healthier lifestyle choices. It accomplishes this by educating them about fitness, nutrition, and hydration and how each impacts athletic performance - and overall well-being.

SOCT's Director of Health and Wellness, Caitlin Daikus, recently attended one of Marrakech's practices to join the athletes in their Fit 5 activities and thank their dedicated coaches! Learn more about our Fit 5 program here: https://www.soct.org/health.../inclusive-fitness-programs

SOCT Athlete Leaders Donate Toys During the Season of Giving

Logan Rosenberg and Angie D'Amico from our Athlete Leadership Team helped deliver toys, games, and stuffed animals that were donated by our Global Messengers at their Fall Training Day to Connecticut Children's Medical Center on December 12th. The donations will help bring joy to children at the hospital not only during the holidays but throughout the year.

We're proud of our Global Messengers who selected the charity and responded to the toy drive with such heart and overwhelming generosity!

Officers Hold Holiday Fundraisers To Support SOCT

This holiday season, law enforcement officers across the state are volunteering their time to hold fundraisers that will benefit our athletes. During November and December, they've already hosted eight Tip-A-Cop events that raised over $23,000 and six coin drop fundraisers that raised more than $24,000.

Tip-A-Cop events are held at restaurants where officers assist the waitstaff in serving patrons and all tips they receive go to SOCT, while coin drop events involve officers collecting coins and cash in buckets at designated locations in their communities.
