Whether training to improve sports performance or stay active year-round, Special Strong Central CT provides a welcoming environment where athletes can get stronger and reach their goals.

Have you noticed progress since you started with Special Strong? If yes, what progress have you noticed?

Angie: Yes, I have noticed a difference in my leg strength because of weight training. I have also noticed a difference in my flexibility and my endurance when I run with the personal trainer or on my own.

I noticed progress because I am using heavier weights than when I first started.

If a Special Olympics athlete is interested in Special Strong, how do they connect with you?

The first step is to contact Lissa at Special Strong Central Connecticut. We typically start with a trial session. It gives us a chance to meet, talk about what you’re interested in, move together, and make sure we’re a good fit. Then we complete an assessment.

I want to hear from the athlete. What’s your goal? From there, we create an individualized training program. Whatever brings you through the door, there is a place for you here.
