Kelly Smith is an athlete from Manchester who will represent Connecticut and compete in bowling at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. Kelly is 47 years old and has been involved in Special Olympics for 26 years. In addition to bowling, she’s participated in basketball, croquet, snowshoeing, softball, and swimming.
Kelly says that she’s made many friends through Special Olympics and is very happy when she’s competing.
In addition to participating in Special Olympics, Kelly enjoys volunteering at Manchester Area Conference Churches (MACC) charities, baking, painting pictures, and collecting ceramic cats. She loves to laugh and has a great sense of humor.
Kelly is excited to participate in the USA Games because it will provide an opportunity to travel to someplace new and meet more people. She looks forward to visiting the Mall of America and hopes to bowl her best.
To prepare for the Games, Kelly is attending bowling practices regularly, swimming at the YMCA, and exercising by going for walks in her neighborhood.
