Meet Amanda Renaud who will be a Floating Coach supporting Team Connecticut at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis. Amanda has been involved in Special Olympics Connecticut for over 15 years as a Local Coordinator for the Special Olympics Farmington Valley Local Program, coach, and Unified Sports® partner.
“Special Olympics has given me the opportunity to meet so many amazing people that I would not have otherwise had the chance to interact with,” she says.
Amanda is most proud of the athletes on her team when they try something new and love it. “To see the smiles and excitement is such a rewarding experience,” she says.
Amanda has received the Special Olympics Connecticut Lou Perkins Coach Award and had the honor of fulfilling the role of Assistant Head of Delegation for the delegation that represented Connecticut at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Washington. She feels extremely honored to, once again, have the opportunity to attend a Special Olympics USA Games event.
