Rebecca "Becca" Hart

Floating Coach

Meriden, CT

Rebecca “Becca” Hart is a Unified Sports® coach from Meriden who will represent Connecticut and support athletes competing in track and field at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. Becca is a special education teacher at Meliora Academy in Meriden and has been involved in Special Olympics for four years. In addition to participating as a track and field coach in Waterbury, she’s also played volleyball and softball as a Unified Sports® partner. For the past two years, she has been the Head Coach for alpine skiing and snowboarding.

Becca has a passion for helping to create a more inclusive world for people with intellectual disabilities. “Special Olympics has given me more opportunities to make a difference for our athletes, and highlights the amazing things they can do, which is a privilege to witness,” says Becca.

Becca is most proud of seeing the people she cares about succeed, whether that be athletes, students, friends, or family!

In addition to participating in Special Olympics, Becca enjoys outdoor activities including camping, boating, and going to the beach. She also enjoys playing pickleball and working out in the gym. She admires her current boss because she is very wise, supportive, and able to work through any problem with ease.

Becca is excited to go to the USA Games in Minneapolis in 2026. “Attending the USA Games means being there for the athletes and coaches and helping out where I can,” says Becca. Becca is looking forward to meeting new people and being part of something amazing. To prepare for her first USA Games, Becca has been asking questions, attending meetings, and doing research so she knows what to expect.
