Julie Barker is an athlete from Waterbury who will represent Connecticut and compete in swimming at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. Julie is 37 years old and works at Pilot Seasoning Company in Middlebury.
Julie has been involved in Special Olympics for several years and, in addition to swimming, participates in track and field. Julie is proud that she moved into her own apartment last year and got a job. She admires her sister the most because she helps her a lot and also helps others.
Julie is super excited about being selected to compete at the USA Games. To prepare, she practices every other day and takes walks as often as she can.
