Alexandra Frumin is an athlete who will compete in swimming at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. Alexandra is 26 years old and lives in Greenwich. She works at the Greenwich YMCA as a childcare assistant and Greenwich Dental as an office assistant. She also works at Greenwich Point Beach during the summer months.
Alexandra began swimming with the Special Olympics Greenwich team when she was ten years old. She enjoys competing as well as going to Special Olympics dances with her teammates. In addition to swimming, she participates in figure skating and Unified golf with her dad or brother. Alexandra is also proud to be a Global Messenger and Health Messenger.
“Special Olympics lets me meet new people, learn new skills, and have fun competing in sports,” says Alexandra.
In addition to her sports experiences with Special Olympics, Alexandra was a member of the Greenwich High School junior varsity swim team and the YMCA Greenwich Marlins.
Alexandra loves the theater and has appeared in shows at Greenwich High School and with St. Catherine Players. Alexandra also enjoys dancing, singing, Zumba, and water aerobics at the YMCA.
Alexandra admires Jamie Warner, her Special Olympics local coordinator and coach because he makes practice fun and includes everyone.
This will be Alexandra’s first time competing at a Special Olympics USA Games event. “It’s going to be fun and exciting to visit a new place and meet new people,” she says. To prepare, she is walking to the pool almost every day to do laps and train with her team.
