Unified Basketball Partner

Oxford, CT

Chase Skolozdra is a Unified Sports® partner who is headed to the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games to play basketball with his teammates from Oxford High School! Chase is 17 years old and works as a flag football referee with Oxford Parks and Rec. In addition to basketball, Chase participates in Unified flag football and soccer as his school.

Chase credits Special Olympics Unified Sports® with changing his life for the better. “It has really changed me as a person and has helped me to grow to include everyone,” says Chase.

Chase is also a member of the football and baseball teams at Oxford High School and makes sports a huge part of his life. He will be the Unified Captain for his school and Captain of the football team next year. He is also a member of the Link Crew, a group of juniors and seniors who help freshmen adapt to high school.

When he’s not at school, Chase enjoys going fishing with his friends, golfing, and playing the guitar. He admires his grandfather the most because he is an Army veteran and has many stories to share about the places he’s been.

“I am very grateful that I get the opportunity to play in the USA Games because I know there’s not a lot of people who do,” says Chase. Chase is looking forward to competing with his teammates and getting to know them on a deeper level. To prepare, Chase is practicing with his teammates and making sure they are ready to compete the best they can.
