Vincent Ukanowicz is a proud member of the Unified Sports® basketball team at Oxford High School, a recognized Unified Champion School in Oxford. He has been involved in Unified Sports® for the past four years and is passionate about ensuring every teammate feels welcomed, supported, and included.

Unified Sports® has transformed his life, helping him move beyond earlier experiences with bullying and discover the power of kindness, teamwork, and belonging. He is proud of his growth both on and off the field, earning Player of the Month honors, completing a full season on the high school football team, and giving back through community service - including volunteering at a local food bank, participating in town-wide cleanups, and helping families recover after a devastating flood.

Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at a young age, he has developed resilience and determination that shape his approach to athletics and life. Inspired by his family’s positivity and motivated by the opportunity to meet new people and experience new challenges, he is honored to represent Team Connecticut at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games and is excited for the journey ahead.
