Meet Team CT's Unified Softball Team
Gloves on, bats ready, hearts full. Team Connecticut’s Unified softball team is stepping up to the plate for the 2026 USA Games with drive, determination, and inclusion at their core. The Unified softball team is a composite group made up of teammates including eight athletes, seven Unified partners, and three coaches from 14 different towns. They will practice two times a week to train to compete in Minneapolis in the division for Special Olympics Unified Sports®– a program that pairs people with and without intellectual disabilities. Our players bring diverse stories, big personalities, and unified purpose: from powerful swings to clutch catches, they know that every inning matters, every teammate counts, and every game is a chance to show what inclusive sports can achieve.
Together, this team will:
-
Highlight the strength of Unified Sports® - athletes and Unified partners playing shoulder-to-shoulder, building friendships, demonstrating respect, and achieving together.
-
Represent Connecticut’s commitment to inclusion, excellence, and community - proving that sport is more than medals: it’s also about connection, growth, and shared triumphs.
-
Inspire fans, families, fellow athletes, and supporters both in Minnesota and back home - reminding all of us that when we play together, we win together.
